Age 64
Michael died July 27, 2010 after  8 months  of brain cancer.
Beloved husband of Carol Mitchell- McIntosh.
Step father of Dr. Robin Lipski, and Dr. Ryan (Melanie) Mitchell.
Best grandfather of Justin & Elliot Lipski, Isabella and Julian Mitchell.
Brother of Donald (Connie), Richard (Gloria), Fr. Thomas CSSR, Charles (Lourdes), Mary Ann Moore, Kathleen (Charles) Beltnick and the late Harry. Son of the late John and Helen.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews and cousins.
Michael worked at Holy Redeemer as a teacher and Athletic Director, he then served as the Archdiocese of Detroit Associate Director Health Physical Education and Athletics from 1970-87. In 1987, he became the Assistant Principal/Athletic Director at  Ypsilanti High school until he retired in 2008.
Visitation at the O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home 41555 Grand River Novi 248-348-1800 Friday,3-9pm. 
In state at St James Church 46325 W. Ten Mile Novi Saturday 10:00am until the funeral liturgy at10:30am.
 Interment Parkview Cemetery Livonia Michigan     .

#21 Grace Baron 2010-08-02 04:34 Across the miles and the years, I send my condolences to the whole McIntosh family. Mike and everyone of you (and your dear parents) remain in my mind and heart the wonderful "folks across the street" from us on Campbell St.

Just last year Mike & I shared memories of the old neighborhood and the paths we've traveled since. I saw then that what lit up his life was making and keeping his "new neighborhoods" at home and at work as much fun for others as our old neighborhoods were. He must be missed by so many!

Our families were so often joined in street play, porch visits, and happy times. I join you now in this sorrowful time.

#22 The Comazzi Family 2010-08-02 07:45 Mike touched our lives and our hearts when he became the A.D. at Ypsi High in 1987. We observed his generous and caring support for all high school students, including our youngest son, John. Running into Mike after John graduated was always a pleasure.

When we saw his obituary, we were quite shocked and saddened. We all extend our heartfelt sympathy to you, Carol, and Mike's entire family. Please know that you are all very much in our thoughts and prayers. We are confident that Mike has found a special place in heaven for the loving and Christian life he led. #23 The Comazzi Family 2010-08-02 08:02 Mike touched our lives and hearts when he became the A.D. at Ypsi High. We witnessed his dedication, warmth and caring demeanor to all YHS students, including our youngest son, John. After John graduated, it was always a pleasure to see Mike around town or at St. John.

Please know how surprised and saddened we were to see Mike's obituary. We know Mike has a special place in heaven because of the exemplary Christian and loving person he was.
